Rookie Matthew Slater was an SI.com All-America at UCLA for doing one thing - returning kickoffs. The Patriots [team stats] thought so highly of that ability, they used a fifth-round draft pick to select Slater.

But things went awry in yesterday’s 33-10 loss to the Steelers when Slater flubbed his specialty in the third quarter.
